TONIGHT! PICKPOCKET REVUE!

11159485_10152790173063341_3006028237561693214_nTonight, The Pickpocket Revue will be playing their second show in celebration of our buddy Henry’s 21st Birthday. There’s gonna be burlesque dancers, bellydancers, some other great bands including a big-ass, epic brass band. There should still be tickets at the door so come on down to Columbia City.

Our first show was a Clash cover night a few weeks back, which was a great way to get to know one another and test how we operate as a unit. So far, so good. Tonight’s set will feature songs by The Bad Things and an old Midnite Choir song I haven’t played in probably 12 or 13 years, and I never sang it, so that’s exciting. We’ll also be pulling out our Clash covers and some Leonard Cohen and Tiger Lillies tunes as well. A good representation of my various projects and influences.

The musicians are top notch: Mai Li Pittard from The Debaucherauntes, Aaron Joshua Shay from The Mongrel Jews, my old partner in crime/band wife Austin Quist (of The Bad Things and Bakelite 78), Brendan Hogan of The Bad Things and Mamie Lavona, and Steven Baz of Bakelite 78. A veritable “super group” of Seattle’s alt-folk scene. It’s an honor to share a stage with such talent and I think our various styles mesh well. Stay tuned for more from this scrappy little outfit.

This same lineup will be joining me for the 4th year of Punk As Folk at Conor Byrne’s along with some very special guests: Danbert Nobacon (of Chumbawamba) and my old friend Jesse Stewart from The Wages of Sin. That night’s set will be entirely devoted to songs by Danbert Nobacon, Chumbawamba, The Clash, The Pogues and Cock Sparrer. Punk fucking rock! We might play “Death of the Inferno” if you twist our arms.

I’m hoping to get some video evidence of the group tonight, maybe some pictures as well. Excited for you all to hear the music.
